Introduction and Overview
In my book “7 Secrets of Confidence” I describe confidence as an emotion that is developable using a structured hypnotherapeutic intervention. Confidence affects many aspects of our lives ranging from public speaking, getting a new job, to communicating with other people.
What determines our confidence is the belief and scripts that we carry inside our unconscious mind. By that I mean the part of our mind that is outside normal awareness. The unconscious mind is the part of us that ultimately affects our confidence and is the part of our mind that can be programmed using clinical hypnosis to help make us feel more in control, more confident, and more positive about ourselves both generally in life and in specific situations.
How the Hypnotherapy Works
Clinical hypnotherapy works by helping the client gain a focused concentration to release the “part” of them that is blocking their confidence and then reintegrating into the mind a new “part” that is more resourceful and aligned to heightening the state of confidence. The hypnotherapy also develops new programs inside the mind that is supportive of boosting confidence and confident behaviour.
The Hypnotherapy Plan
Clients normally attend 3 to 6 sessions. Typically a 3 session plan works in the following order:-
• Full case history is taken to help develop the plan
• Hypnotherapy session 1
• Clients are then taught self hypnosis
• Review of actions between session 1 & 2
• Hypnotherapy session 2: Installing new confidence
• Practical post hypnotherapy actions
• Review of actions between session 2 & 3
• Hypnotherapy Session 3: Affirming confidence
• Post programme actions and support
Clients are also given a copy of my book “7 Secrets of Confidence” to read during the process of us working together.
